Waterproof in Las Vegas

If you think you don’t need waterproof flooring because you don’t live in a hurricane-prone area, think again. Moisture and humidity can be created by a lot of conditions that do not include the weather.

Tile and waterproof luxury vinyl flooring are completely waterproof flooring materials.

There’s a relative newcomer to the market that offers the highest protection of durability, waterproofing, and moisture-resistance. This material is luxury vinyl with a new, technologically advanced core, WPC (Wood Plastic Composite), so it has all of the style and design of luxury vinyl.

You can get it to realistically mimic wood, tile, or stone, with texturing to give it a wire-brushed, distressed, or antiqued look. Features such as micro-beveling are also available. Waterproof WPC is the answer for anyone who wants both beauty and practicality.

Five sources of excess water in your home

Before I knew it, I heard that familiar drip-drip-drip--in a room where new carpet had just been installed!

Also, when the sink drains slowly, it’s much more than just a nuisance. Handle it immediately because eventually, it will affect another connecting pipe which will back up.

Since there’s no place for the water to go but down, you’ll have a leak.

  • Chimneys. Chimneys can be a bigger source of ceiling leaks than the roof. Here’s what happened to me: We had a brief, but violent, rainstorm with high winds that came at just the right angle to damage the chimney flashing (which is a common problem).
  • Clogged drains. Even the outside drain pipe can cause problems with the inside pipes, as well as creating humidity and moisture.
  • Leaky pipe joints. They aren’t very visible, but you’ll be able to hear it. If you hear a banging sound (it can sound like someone’s playing bongos) it means that you might have damage, and a plumber should look at it.
  • Corrosion. Like anything, pipes age, and the washing machine hose is one of the biggest culprits when it comes to corrosion and flooding. They last about 10 years, but even if it seems okay, have it examined and possibly replaced. Better safe than sorry!
  • Broken seals on appliances. When they were installed, seals were placed on the appliances, all around the water connectors. With time, they wear down and when that happens, you’ll see condensation and eventually flooding. Even infrequently used appliances like dishwashers can cause issues.
